Red Cross Flea Market - Caussade

A large charity flea market

Every spring, the local branch of the French Red Cross in Caussade organises a flea market that has become one of the major charity events in Quercy. Held at Espace Bonnaïs, rue de la Solidarité — a fitting address — the event brings together 120 sellers, indoors and outdoors, and draws bargain hunters and families from across the northern part of the department.

A well-oiled setup

Run by Red Cross volunteers, the flea market offers stands at a single rate: €10 for 5 metres outdoors or 4 metres indoors. This accessibility encourages local sellers to clear out attics, garages and wardrobes. Proceeds help fund the Caussade branch's social work: food aid, clothing service, support for people in need.

Espace Bonnaïs and its surroundings offer the typical wide range of a flea market: crockery, adult and children's clothing, toys, books, baby items, vinyl records, small appliances, decorations, games. The mixed indoor/outdoor format allows bulky furniture and items to go in the parking, while the hall hosts more valuable or fragile stands.

A family-friendly, friendly day

The atmosphere is that of a big local gathering: coffee and pastries from opening, light lunches at the volunteer-run bar, exchanges between sellers and visitors. The venue is fully accessible to people with hearing, cognitive, motor and visual disabilities.
