The grand monthly flea market meeting in Marseille

Every first Sunday of the month, halls 6 and 7 of Parc Chanot host the Mensuel de la Brocante, one of the unmissable events on the Marseille antique scene. From 9 am to 6 pm, around 150 professionals — experienced antique dealers, professional second-hand dealers, and specialized merchants — display their finest pieces in a spacious, covered setting, ideal for browsing in any season.

Organized by the association Art Collection Organisation, this prestigious flea market is distinguished by the quality of its selection, exclusively reserved for professionals in the sector. Visitors can discover a complete panorama of decorative arts: antique furniture and vintage furniture from the 1950s to the 1980s, designer objects, lamps, paintings, ceramics, silverware, glassware, old books, curiosities, and carefully selected collector's items.

Parc Chanot, a setting for major Marseille events

The Parc Chanot, located at 114 Rond-Point du Prado in the 8th arrondissement of Marseille, is the main exhibition center of the Phocaean city. Owned by the City of Marseille and managed by GL events, this 85,000 m² complex includes a convention center, several exhibition halls, and event spaces. It hosts the famous Marseille International Fair and numerous professional trade shows each year.

Halls 6 and 7, dedicated to the Mensuel de la Brocante, offer a vast and bright indoor space, protected from both the mistral wind and summer heat. This indoor setup allows exhibitors to present their items in optimal conditions — fragile furniture, frames, and art objects are protected from the weather — and visitors to browse comfortably between the aisles.

Marseille has a long tradition of flea markets and antique fairs, inherited from its port history and Mediterranean trade. The association Art Collection Organisation actively contributes to this tradition by organizing, in addition to the Mensuel du Parc Chanot, the Brocante du Cours Julien every Thursday and the Brocante du Rond-Point du Prado every Saturday. These three complementary events make Marseille one of the strongholds of flea markets in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.

The Prado district, where Parc Chanot is located, is one of the most pleasant areas of Marseille. A stone's throw from the Prado beaches, the Parc Borély, and the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC), the area offers shoppers the opportunity to extend their Sunday with a seaside stroll or a cultural visit. The Stade Vélodrome, an immediate neighbor of Parc Chanot, is another emblematic landmark of the district.

The Mensuel de la Brocante is open from 9 am to 6 pm every first Sunday of the month. Admission is free for visitors. Parc Chanot is directly accessible by the Rond-Point du Prado metro station (line M2), located a few minutes' walk from the entrance to the halls. For visitors arriving by car, the Parc Chanot parking offers numerous spaces in the immediate vicinity. It is advisable to arrive early in the morning to take advantage of the best selection and negotiate calmly with the exhibitors.
