The Attics in the Street of Cinq-Mars-la-Pile are a must-attend event on May 8th in Touraine. Bargain hunters can find clothes, toys, books, dishes, trinkets, tools, small furniture, vinyl records, vintage items, and everyday treasures. Registration is at the Maison des associations.
Cinq-Mars-la-Pile (37130) is a commune in the Loire Valley, located between Tours and Langeais, on the right bank of the river. The village owes its name to a unique monument in France: the Pile de Cinq-Mars, a 29-meter-high Gallo-Roman brick tower whose exact function remains a mystery — a funerary marker, a lighthouse, or a votive monument. The village also has the ruins of the Château de Cinq-Mars, whose marquis conspired against Richelieu and was executed in 1642. The Loire, a UNESCO World Heritage site, runs through the commune in a landscape of dikes and meadows.
The Attics in the Street transform the village into a huge open-air flea market. Refreshments and food are available. Entry is free.
The Attics in the Street of Cinq-Mars-la-Pile return on May 8, 2026, with 300 exhibitors.
