The Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon Boot Sale: One of the Largest in Southern Deux-Sèvres

Every third Sunday of October, Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon hosts its great annual boot sale and flea market, which has established itself as one of the most important events in the southern department's flea market calendar. With 200 to 300 exhibitors expected, the event transforms the village centre into a vast open-air market blending attic treasures, second-hand furniture, ornaments, clothing and collectibles.

A Mixed and Generous Event

The originality of this boot sale lies in its mixed character: private sellers and professionals coexist harmoniously. The former clear their attics and cellars, offering everyday items at modest prices. The latter bring their expertise and more sought-after pieces — antique furniture, collectible crockery, vintage tools. This blend creates a rich and varied offering that satisfies both the casual browser and the seasoned collector.

Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon, Gateway to the Marais Poitevin

A charming small town nestled beside the Mignon river, a tributary of the Sèvre Niortaise, Mauzé is the natural entry point to the Marais Poitevin, France's second largest wetland. Its Romanesque church, old lanes and riverside gardens provide a picturesque backdrop for browsing the stalls.

Entertainment and Catering

The day features entertainment for all ages: rides, refreshments and on-site catering. The event starts very early — from 6am for the earliest exhibitors and bargain hunters — and continues until late afternoon. Parking is available around the village centre.
