Producers' and artisans' market with a car boot sale in the heart of the village, near the Tours de Merle
The Saint-Bonnet-les-Tours-de-Merle market and car boot sale takes place every spring in this small village in southern Corrèze, famous for its medieval castle site of the Tours de Merle. This event combines a market of producers and artisans with a car boot sale open to individuals.
The market showcases local products from Corrèze and Quercy: goat cheeses, mountain honey, jams, seasonal plants, peasant bread, and other local specialties. Artisans also present their creations, in the tradition of the village markets of Xaintrie.
The originality of this event lies in the free pitches for the car boot sale. Individuals can reserve their spot by contacting the organizers and come to sell second-hand items, clothes, trinkets, and small furniture free of charge.
Saint-Bonnet-les-Tours-de-Merle takes its name from the Tours de Merle, a set of medieval fortified towers perched on a rocky outcrop above the Maronne valley. This site, classified as a Historic Monument, is one of the most impressive in Corrèze and is an essential destination for a walk. The market and car boot sale offer an excellent opportunity to combine a cultural visit with bargain hunting in a preserved natural setting.
The village is located in Xaintrie, a wild and hilly region in southern Corrèze, between the gorges of the Dordogne and the Maronne. This rural territory, on the borders of Cantal and Lot, is renowned for its grandiose landscapes and its built heritage in local stone.
