The 2025 edition of the Marché aux Timbres du Prado saw the faithful attendees of the Marseille philatelic event gather every Sunday morning. On Avenue du Prado, between numbers 61 and 69, about a dozen exhibitors offered stamps from France and around the world, old postcards from Marseille and Provence, collectible coins, and philatelic documents throughout the year. Organized by the Club Philatélique Phocéen, this free Sunday market continued to attract seasoned collectors and the curious, in a friendly atmosphere typical of specialized markets in the South of France.
Throughout 2025, the Marché aux Timbres du Prado held its weekly Sunday morning gathering on Avenue du Prado, in the 8th arrondissement of Marseille. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., about a dozen exhibitors – specialized dealers and private collectors – displayed their binders and albums on trestles set up outdoors, between numbers 61 and 69.
Marseille collectors and visitors could find stamps from France and around the world, old postcards featuring Marseille, Provence, and many other regions, as well as various coins and philatelic documents – first-day covers, old letters, postmarks. The market also served as a place for informal exchanges between collectors, where advice and expertise circulated as freely as the stamps.
Organized by the Club Philatélique Phocéen, this free Sunday event benefited from the pleasant setting of Avenue du Prado, easily accessible by the Castellane and Périer metro stations. The market continues in 2026 at the same location, every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
