Montrond is a village on the first Jura plateau, located about 5 kilometers from Arbois, the wine town of Louis Pasteur. The village overlooks the Arbois reculée and offers a spectacular panorama of the vineyards, the Cuisance valley, and the limestone cliffs that frame the reculée. It is one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the Jura. The ruins of Montrond Castle, dating from the Middle Ages, add to the historical and picturesque character of the place.
