The traditional flea market of the Arbois firefighters, every May 8th
Every May 8th, the Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers d'Arbois organizes its traditional flea market on Avenue Delort and the Promenade des Tiercelines. With around 140 exhibitors, it is one of the largest car boot sales in the city of Pasteur. Refreshments and food are available on site, accompanying this popular treasure hunting day for the inhabitants of the Jura vineyards. The event is now moving closer to the new fire station in the Éthole area.
For many years, the Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers d'Arbois has organized a large flea market on May 8th, a public holiday. This event has become a must-attend gathering for treasure hunters from the Jura vineyards. With around 140 exhibitors, it is one of the most important flea markets in the small Franche-Comté town.
Historically located on Avenue Delort and the Promenade des Tiercelines, the firefighters' flea market offers a pleasant treasure hunting route in the heart of this charming town. Stalls line the shaded paths, offering a wide range of second-hand items: antique tableware, trinkets, vintage toys, clothing, books, vinyl records, and small furniture.
Arbois is an emblematic town in the Jura region, known as the capital of Vin Jaune and the birthplace of Louis Pasteur. The firefighters' flea market is an excellent opportunity to stroll through its picturesque streets, walk along the Cuisance river, and discover its wine cellars and vineyards. The exceptional setting of the town, between vineyards and rolling hills, adds to the pleasure of treasure hunting.
With the construction of the new fire station, the flea market is gradually moving closer to the Éthole area, offering more space for exhibitors and visitors. The Amicale des Sapeurs-Pompiers provides refreshments and food, the profits of which contribute to the financing of the association's activities.
May 8th, the day commemorating Victory in Europe Day in 1945, is traditionally one of the busiest days for flea markets in France. In Arbois, this date is inseparable from the firefighters' flea market. It is an opportunity for families to enjoy a day off to browse the stalls and discover the diversity of items offered: antique tableware, trinkets, vintage furniture, period toys, vinyl records, books, and tools. Prices, generally negotiable, remain affordable and delight treasure hunters of all budgets.
The Arbois firefighters' flea market returns on Friday, May 8th, 2026. Approximately 140 exhibitors expected in the city of Pasteur.
