Booksellers market on Thursdays and Fridays on Place Saint-Pierre in Toulouse
The Marché aux Livres de la Place Saint-Pierre is the preferred meeting point for Toulouse bibliophiles. Every Thursday and Friday, the booksellers set up their stalls on the Place Saint-Pierre, one of the liveliest squares in Toulouse, located on the banks of the Garonne. Since its creation in 2017, this market has become an institution for all those who love to browse, discover, and buy second-hand books.
The booksellers of Place Saint-Pierre offer a varied selection that will delight all types of readers:
Prices are affordable and allow you to build a library at a lower cost, while giving a second life to the books.
The Place Saint-Pierre is one of the most pleasant places in Toulouse. Lined with cafes and restaurants, it offers a view of the Garonne and the Pont Saint-Pierre. The book market is part of the friendly atmosphere of this student and festive district, in immediate proximity to the Place de la Daurade and the developed riverbanks. After literary treasure hunting, you can extend your walk along the river or sit on a terrace.
The Marché aux Livres de Saint-Pierre was born from the joint desire of the Association des Bouquinistes de Saint-Pierre and the City of Toulouse to create an outdoor space dedicated to second-hand books. This initiative is part of the tradition of booksellers on the quays, so dear to French culture, and contributes to the cultural vitality of the 'Ville rose'. The market promotes access to reading for all and participates in the circular economy of books.
