Monthly professional antique market under the Halle Marcadieu in Tarbes, every 1st Saturday of the month
For nearly fifty years, the Marcadieu Antique Market has been the unmissable monthly meeting place for antique and flea market enthusiasts in Tarbes. Created in 1976 by Gilbert Castells and Robert Aillaud, this market is organized by ABBA (Amicale Bigourdane des Brocanteurs et Antiquaires), which brings together antique and second-hand professionals from the Hautes-Pyrénées.
Every first Saturday of the month, the southern half of the magnificent Halle Marcadieu—a 19th-century Baltard-style covered market hall—transforms into a genuine antique market. Exactly 33 professional exhibitors present a wide range of goods: antique and period furniture, paintings and engravings, art objects, silverware, old books, postcards, jewelry, antique tools, and all kinds of curiosities. The spots are so coveted that a waiting list has been established.
The Halle Marcadieu, with its metallic framework and spacious covered aisles, provides a remarkable setting for browsing, regardless of the weather. Located in the heart of Tarbes city center, the hall is easily accessible with plenty of nearby parking. After the visit, bargain hunters can enjoy the neighboring food market and the shops around Place Marcadieu.
