A hunt in prehistoric Vienne

Lussac-les-Châteaux is a village of about 2,500 inhabitants halfway between Poitiers and Montmorillon. Its flea market, scheduled for Sunday 7 June 2026, is part of the department's lively spring community calendar.

The commune is world-famous among archaeologists for its Magdalenian engraved plaques from the Grotte de la Marche cave (c. 14,000 BP), one of the most important treasures of Upper Palaeolithic art. A flea market visit pairs well with the Prehistory Museum or the Sabline centre.
