The association Le Sourire d'Houda, headquartered at 1 route de Fay in Montfaucon-en-Velay, has created an original solidarity flea market concept: Les Puces du Samedi. Every first Saturday of the month, from March to December, this flea market opens its doors to offer clothes, furniture, books, tableware, and household appliances at very accessible prices.

A dual purpose: solidarity and humanitarian aid

Les Puces du Samedi is not an ordinary flea market. All proceeds are used to fund the humanitarian actions of the association Le Sourire d'Houda. This non-profit organization (loi 1901) dedicates its efforts to medical aid for children in disadvantaged regions of Morocco, as well as various solidarity actions in France. Buying at Les Puces du Samedi means participating in an initiative that is both economic and charitable.

Stock renewed thanks to donations

The operation of Les Puces relies on donations from the local community. Residents can drop off their items and clothes on Thursdays and Fridays from 2 PM to 5 PM, as well as at the entrance on the day of the sale. This constant flow of donations allows for regular stock renewal and always offers new merchandise to visitors. The association's volunteers carefully sort, clean, and display the items.

Adapted opening hours and access

Les Puces du Samedi are open from 9 AM to 12:30 PM, and then from 1:30 PM to 5 PM, allowing visitors to come in both the morning and the afternoon. This schedule, divided into two half-days, facilitates visitor flow management and gives volunteers time to rest and reorganize the displays between sessions. The premises, recently renovated, offer a clear and well-organized sales space.
