Le Langon Troc'Party (Amicale Laïque)

An unusual swap party

Le Langon's Troc'Party isn't a regular flea market: it's a peer-to-peer swap system built on a local virtual currency, the 'Mogette du Langon'. Drop off unused items, garden surplus, outgrown clothes — earn Mogettes, then 'buy' what others bring. Services are also swappable: sewing, IT lessons, gardening, DIY, cooking.

Run by the Troc2trucs association within the Amicale Laïque, it's much more than an economy hack: genuine popular-education, social-link, solidarity and ecological-transition project. Next date: Saturday 9 May 2026.

Convivial format

Troc'Parties run regularly at the Amicale Laïque hall, often with shared meals, snacks and discussions on responsible consumption. Walk-ins welcome, no obligation to swap.

Le Langon, southern-plain village

A Vendée commune of nearly 1,700 inhabitants between Fontenay-le-Comte and Luçon. Typical agricultural Vendée (grain, livestock). Named after the mogette — the emblematic Vendée white bean that also names the local currency. Saint-Pierre church and village shops.
