La Fresnais is a commune of about 2,700 inhabitants located in the northeast of Ille-et-Vilaine, on the edge of the Dol marshes. This vast polder, reclaimed from the sea since the Middle Ages, forms a unique landscape with its flat meadows, dikes, and canals. The commune benefits from a prime location between the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel and the Emerald Coast, near Cancale and its famous oysters. The village retains its rural character with its granite church and houses.
