Grand Easter Monday flea market in the streets of Kogenheim
Every Easter Monday, the streets of Kogenheim are transformed into a huge open-air flea market. Exhibitors, individuals and professionals, set up from 8 AM and offer visitors an incredible choice of items: antiques, flea market, car boot sale, clothing, toys, books, dishes, decoration, trinkets and vintage items. It is one of the most anticipated Easter events in the Alsace plain.
Kogenheim is a village of about 1,500 inhabitants located in the plain of central Alsace, between Sélestat and Benfeld. This authentic rural village, with its traditional half-timbered houses and typical church, offers a charming setting to host this large-scale event. The municipality and local associations are actively involved in the organization to make this Easter Monday a true moment of village celebration shared by all residents.
The flea market is accompanied by numerous entertainment activities that make it a family event par excellence. An Easter egg hunt delights children, while various street performances punctuate the day. Food service is provided throughout the day with Alsatian specialties, tartes flambées, knacks (sausages), pretzels and homemade pastries. A large paella is sometimes even on the menu to treat visitors. A family-friendly and convivial event that marks the beginning of the beautiful season in Alsace.
