Jaunay-Marigny Garage Sale and Brocante

The traditional 1st May sale

Every 1 May, the Jaunay Festival Committee (former commune now merged with Marigny-Brizay into Jaunay-Marigny) runs its big garage sale, brocante and craft exhibition. 2026 edition: Thursday 1 May 2026, 9am-6pm. Deeply rooted in local tradition, it draws visitors from across the Poitiers metro, making the most of a public holiday to stroll the aisles.

Jaunay-Marigny, neighbour of Futuroscope

Jaunay-Marigny is a new commune created in 2017 by merging Jaunay-Clan and Marigny-Brizay, north of Poitiers (around 7,000 inhabitants in total). A strategic spot: 10 km north of Poitiers, next to Futuroscope (Chasseneuil-du-Poitou), on the Paris-Bordeaux A10. This proximity makes it a very visited commune, with many hotels and a dynamic economy (business incubators, industrial zones).

Historically rural

Before the merger, Jaunay-Clan and Marigny-Brizay were two rural Haut-Poitou villages of vineyards and cereals. Several heritage items remain: old churches, wash-houses, mills, Roman remains. The Festival Committee, very active, runs several events yearly (Saint-Jean fête, Christmas market, 1 May sale).

Combine with Futuroscope

For families, location enables a two-part day: morning at the sale, afternoon at Futuroscope (or vice versa). The park is less than 5 min by car. Alternative: tour Haut-Poitou (Neuville-de-Poitou wine cellar, wine villages, Romanesque heritage).
