The Ittenheim Flea Market is an institution of the Alsatian spring calendar. Exclusively reserved for private individuals (in application of a prefectural order of February 8, 1999), it guarantees bargain hunters the authenticity of a real car boot sale where exhibitors unpack personal items, family souvenirs and second-hand articles at gentle prices. The streets concerned are the rue de la Mairie, rue Louis Pasteur and rue Albert Schweitzer, forming a natural circuit that winds through the village center. Bargain hunters can find there clothing for the whole family, children's toys, dishes, Alsatian trinkets, books, vinyl records, small furniture, garden tools, working household appliances, costume jewelry and various curiosities. The atmosphere is particularly friendly since many exhibitors are village inhabitants who know each other and take the time to chat with visitors.
Ittenheim is a commune of the Kochersberg, this micro-region famous for its rolling landscapes of fertile loess, its tobacco crops, its orchards and its large square half-timbered farms. Located just 10 kilometers west of Strasbourg, the commune has about 2,150 inhabitants and belongs to the Community of Communes of Kochersberg. The village is notably known for having hosted Napoleon Bonaparte in 1805, who stopped there during his travels to Germany. This historical past, combined with its Alsatian rural heritage (half-timbered houses, parish church, traditional farms), makes it a pleasant place for a day of bargain hunting. The immediate proximity of Strasbourg attracts many bargain hunters from the Eurometropolis and neighboring communes such as Oberhausbergen, Wolfisheim, Hurtigheim or Handschuheim.
The ComFet'Itt association, which organizes the flea market, imposes a rigorous framework to guarantee the quality of the event. Exhibitor setup is between 6 AM and 8 AM, and pitches must be vacated and cleaned before 6 PM in perfect condition, all waste removed. Registration is mandatory in advance via a form to be submitted to ComFet'Itt at 1 place du Lavoir, 67117 Ittenheim, before April 26, with payment of €15 for 5 meters (+ €4 per additional meter) and a €20 deposit returned if the pitch is returned clean. For visitors, admission is free and access is easy from Strasbourg via the D1004. Contact: 06 30 67 86 62 or [email protected].
The Ittenheim Flea Market returns on Friday, May 8, 2026 in the village streets. Rue de la Mairie, Louis Pasteur and Albert Schweitzer. Private individuals only. Setup 6-8 AM, end 6 PM.
