Haute-Isle, a troglodyte village and garage sale by the Seine

Haute-Isle is one of the rare troglodyte communes in Île-de-France. Perched on chalk cliffs overlooking the Seine, this small Val-d'Oise commune is listed among the most beautiful villages in the region. Its houses carved into the rock and its troglodyte church make it a unique place. It is in this exceptional setting that a garage sale is organised every May 1st, attracting bargain hunters and walkers from across the Vexin.

Champs Monet, a natural setting for the event

The Champs Monet site, an open green space at the foot of the village with a view over the Seine, welcomes the vendors. The evocative name recalls that this Seine valley inspired many impressionist painters. Visitors enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Seine meander and surrounding cliffs while browsing the stalls.
