Annual car boot sale by the Le Grignon association, between grilled sardines and friendly bargain hunting
The Grignon car boot sale is a colorful event in the La Celle-Saint-Avant calendar. Organized by the Le Grignon association, it offers a full day combining bargain hunting and festivities. Exhibitors offer a fine selection of clothing, tableware, books, toys, tools, trinkets, small furniture, and various other items. The event's unique feature: from 9 am, grilled sardines are offered to visitors, followed by a full meal at noon and a traditional boudin fayot (blood sausage with beans) in the evening.
La Celle-Saint-Avant is a small commune of about 800 inhabitants located in the south of Indre-et-Loire, in the green Creuse valley, near Descartes. The village owes its name to a former hermitage and retains a remarkable Romanesque church. The commune offers a peaceful living environment between meadows, woods, and the river, ideal for a day of bargain hunting in the countryside.
In the afternoon, a belote tournament brings players together, while the evening continues with the traditional boudin fayot. Admission is free and parking is easy in the village.
