The big May flea market in Tence

Every second Sunday in May, the town of Tence, the capital of Haut-Lignon in Haute-Loire, transforms into a huge flea market and car boot sale. With over 300 exhibitors gathered at the La Lionchère gymnasium and on Boulevard Léon Rocher, this event is one of the most important in the department, attracting bargain hunters, collectors, and families from all over the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Over 300 exhibitors, indoor and outdoor

The layout of the event is particularly appreciated: the La Lionchère gymnasium offers indoor pitches with tables for rent at €10 each, while Boulevard Léon Rocher and its surroundings host outdoor stalls at €2.50 per linear meter. This dual setup allows professional exhibitors to present their collections in good conditions and individuals to clear out their attics at a lower cost. In 2023, the event brought together 386 exhibitors, demonstrating the dynamism of this event.

Starting at dawn

Exhibitors without reservations can arrive directly on-site from 4 am on Sunday to set up. Those who wish to have an indoor pitch or book in advance can contact the organizer, Geoffroy. On Saturday from 5 pm, it is also possible to drop off belongings to prepare for the next day's setup.

Food and entertainment

A varied food service is available on-site throughout the day: paninis, nuggets, hot dogs, a daily special with cheese and dessert, as well as sweet treats for all appetites. A refreshment stand complements this setup for a friendly and lively day in the heart of the Haut-Lignon.

Tence, heart of the Haut-Lignon

Tence is the main town of the Haut-Lignon plateau, an exceptional area between Velay and Vivarais, on the border of Haute-Loire and Ardèche. Its May flea market is one of the highlights of the local festive calendar, taking advantage of the return of good weather to bring together exhibitors and visitors in a spring atmosphere.
