Grand annual flea market in July in the heart of Haut-Lignon
Every third Sunday of July, the village of Mas-de-Tence transforms into a large open-air flea market. Organized by the local festival committee, this annual event brings together exhibitors and bargain hunters around antiques, bric-a-brac, and various second-hand items. Free entry, exhibitor fee of €1/m. Entertainment, drinks, and food on site.
In Haut-Lignon, this corner of Haute-Loire perched between Mézenc and Meygal, the summer season means flea market. Every third Sunday of July, the village of Mas-de-Tence — a section of the commune of Tence — hosts its grand annual flea market, a true local institution that brings together lovers of bargains and local sellers.
The Mas-de-Tence flea market is among the longest-running events in Haut-Lignon. In 2025, it reached its 30th edition, demonstrating remarkable loyalty between the volunteer organizers, exhibitors, and visitors. This longevity is due to the quality of the organization, the accessibility of pitches at 1 euro per meter (minimum 3 euros), and free entry for visitors.
The streets and squares of Mas-de-Tence fill up from dawn with exhibitors setting up their stalls. Country furniture, antique tableware, old agricultural tools, trinkets, clothes, books, and vinyl records: everything is displayed in the July sun for the greatest pleasure of bargain hunters. The improvised aisles between the stands invite strolling and discovery, in a green setting typical of the high plateaus of Haute-Loire.
Beyond the flea market itself, the event offers entertainment throughout the day, a refreshment stand to quench your thirst, and food to picnic on site. This festive dimension makes Mas-de-Tence much more than just a market: it is a true popular summer festival that brings together the entire local community and holidaymakers passing through Haut-Lignon.
The Mas-de-Tence flea market returns in July 2026, the third Sunday of the month. Large flea market in the village streets, €1/m exhibitors, free entry for visitors. Food on site.
