Grande brocante de Simencourt, 25th edition, over 400 exhibitors
For a quarter of a century, the small village of Simencourt — with barely 300 inhabitants — has transformed each year at the end of June into the capital of flea markets in Artois. More than 400 exhibitors take over rue d'Arras and the adjacent streets, setting up their stalls over several hundred meters. This exceptional longevity is a testament to the organizers' expertise and the loyalty of treasure hunters to this annual event.
This is the charming paradox of Simencourt: a tiny village hosting a giant event. Rue d'Arras, which crosses the village towards the prefecture of Pas-de-Calais, is perfectly suited for this with its length and width. Professional and amateur dealers mingle, offering antique furniture, crockery, trinkets, vinyl records, books, vintage clothing, tools, and collectibles.
The Grande Brocante de Simencourt is also a major social event for the villages of Artois. Refreshments, local food (fries, merguez sausages, waffles), and entertainment make it a true popular festival. Village volunteers mobilize each year to welcome exhibitors and visitors in the best possible conditions. A fine example of rural dynamism.
