Annual street sale in the Eyssagnières district of Gap, the most important in the prefecture
The Grande Braderie des Eyssagnières is the largest car boot sale event in Gap. Organized by Gap Sud, it takes place every year in June in the Eyssagnières district, south of the Hautes-Alpes prefecture. The 2026 edition marks its 20th anniversary. From 8 am to 5 pm, exhibitors offer clothing, everyday items, furniture, and trinkets in a festive and popular atmosphere much appreciated by the people of Gap.
Every June, the Eyssagnières district, south of Gap, transforms into a huge open-air flea market. The Grande Braderie des Eyssagnières, organized by the association Gap Sud, has become over the years the unmissable event for Gap treasure hunters. The 2026 edition celebrates the 20th anniversary of this popular event.
Capital of the Hautes-Alpes, Gap is a dynamic mountain town located at an altitude of 735 meters, at the crossroads of the Southern Alps and Haute-Provence. The town benefits from exceptional sunshine and a remarkable natural setting, dominated by the Pic de Charance and surrounded by green valleys. The Eyssagnières district, an active commercial and residential area, offers an ideal space for this large summer street sale.
The Gap Sud association brings together local businesses and residents around this street sale, which energizes local life. Stalls stretch along sidewalks and parking lots, offering clothing, furniture, tableware, toys, tools, books, and decorative items. The atmosphere is resolutely popular and family-friendly, with attendance making it one of the largest outdoor events in the prefecture.
Exhibitors offer a wide range of second-hand items: antique tableware, trinkets, frames and mirrors, books and magazines, toys, clothing, small appliances, tools, sports equipment, vinyl records and CDs, home textiles, and decorative items. In the Hautes-Alpes, you can also regularly find typical mountain objects: old agricultural tools, cowbells, Savoyard furniture, vintage skis, snowshoes, and hiking equipment. Prices, generally very attractive, make these car boot sales an economical and ecological alternative to buying new.
The department of Hautes-Alpes, the least populated in metropolitan France, compensates for its low density with a particularly dynamic associative life. From March to October, car boot sales and flea markets punctuate the life of Alpine villages, offering as many opportunities to hunt for treasures as to meet neighbors. The summer season, with the influx of tourists and holidaymakers, multiplies opportunities: passing visitors willingly stop to rummage through stalls, sometimes discovering unsuspected Alpine treasures. The exceptional mountain setting of the department adds a unique dimension to these events, between grandiose panoramas and the pure air of the peaks.
The street sale is open from 8 am to 5 pm. Entry is free for visitors. Parking is available in the Eyssagnières district.
