Ascension Thursday is, in the commune of Courteranges, synonymous with a large popular gathering. For several years, the Comité des Fêtes La Renaissance de Courteranges has organized on this day a car boot sale and flea market that brings together between 180 and 200 exhibitors in place Aimé Chanet, transforming the village streets into a joyful market for second-hand goods and crafts.
The day starts early for exhibitors, who can set up from 5 am in place Aimé Chanet and the adjacent streets (7 rue de la commune, 10270 Courteranges). From 7 am to 6 pm, visitors can wander freely among the stalls offering the usual but always attractive inventory of Aube car boot sales: vintage furniture, crockery and trinkets, clothes and accessories, toys and games, books and records, tools and gadgets of all kinds. Local artisans and producers of regional products complete the offering for a diverse and festive day.
The registration fee for individual exhibitors is set at €2.50 per linear meter — an accessible price that ensures high participation. Professionals pay €5 per meter. For plots of 5 meters or more, a parking space is included. All exhibitors receive a free coffee upon arrival, a friendly gesture characteristic of the festival committee's spirit.
The Comité des Fêtes La Renaissance de Courteranges is the driving force behind this event. Its dynamism and organizational skills have made the Grand Vide-Grenier de Courteranges an anticipated and appreciated event throughout the Aube auboise region. Online registrations, which open on April 13, 2026, allow exhibitors to register quickly. In-person registration at the town hall is also possible on April 25 and May 2, 2026, from 9 am to 12 pm.
Around sixty volunteers are mobilized for installation, welcoming exhibitors and visitors, catering, and on-site traffic management. This collective involvement is the mark of authentic rural events, which endure thanks to the commitment of the inhabitants.
Courteranges is a village in the Aube plain, located about twenty kilometers east of Troyes, in an open landscape of large cereal crops characteristic of chalky Champagne. The commune, modest in size, benefits from active community life, of which the Comité des Fêtes La Renaissance is one of the most vibrant expressions. The Grand Vide-Grenier de l'Ascension represents one of the few events capable of bringing together hundreds of people from all over the department in this rural area.
