An ideal autumn gathering to find bargains in Sologne.
The Salbris-Dymchurch Twinning Committee organizes an annual flea market and car boot sale every autumn at the Salle des Fêtes Georges Vilpoux in Salbris. This event, which brings together around 54 exhibitors, funds cultural exchange activities between the Sologne commune and the English town of Dymchurch, in Kent.
The flea market takes place indoors, in the large function room on Rue des Cousseaux. This indoor format is particularly appreciated in autumn, allowing for comfortable treasure hunting regardless of the weather. Exhibitors offer furniture, crockery, trinkets, books, records, and various collectible items.
The twinning between Salbris, the heart of Sologne, and Dymchurch, a charming coastal village in English Kent, is a tradition of cultural exchange that the twinning committee maintains through events like this. The proceeds from the flea market help fund trips and hospitality between the two communities.
The Salbris-Dymchurch Twinning Committee's flea market returns in October 2026 at the function room.
