Every year in May, the CLGM (Coordination Loisirs Gujan-Mestras) organizes one of the largest car boot sales in the Bassin d'Arcachon by the magnificent Lac de la Magdeleine. This body of water, nestled in the heart of the pine forest south of Gujan-Mestras, offers an exceptional natural setting for this popular bargain hunting day. Hundreds of exhibitors set up their stalls on the shaded lawns bordering the lake, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the southern Bassin.

The Lac de la Magdeleine is a leisure area much appreciated by families in Gujan. Its beach, picnic areas, and walking trails make it an ideal relaxation spot. On the day of the grand car boot sale, the aisles fill with furniture, crockery, toys, clothes, books, tools, bicycles, sports equipment, and various items. The space is vast, allowing for comfortable browsing between stalls, even during peak hours. Refreshments and food are provided by CLGM volunteers.
