The Grand May 1^st Car Boot Sale in Le Barcarès brought the centre of the seaside resort to life on Thursday 1 May 2025, faithful to tradition. Private exhibitors set up in the morning in the town centre streets to offer bargain hunters a wide range of items: clothes, toys, trinkets, crockery, books, records and small furniture. The event, organised by the town council, attracted residents, holidaymakers and visitors from the Aude and neighbouring communes, taking advantage of the public holiday for a day of strolling by the sea. This edition confirmed the appeal of this spring event, which every year symbolically marks the start of the tourist season on the Catalan coast.
