Grand car boot sale in the medieval bastide town of Trie-sur-Baïse in the Hautes-Pyrénées
The Grand Car Boot Sale of Trie-sur-Baïse takes over the streets and central square of this medieval bastide founded in 1323 every spring. Under the centuries-old arcades, around the fountain and the historic market hall, exhibitors display their treasures: clothes, toys, antique tableware, trinkets, books, vinyl records and collectibles. The event attracts bargain hunters from across the southern Hautes-Pyrénées and neighboring Gers.
Nestled on the banks of the Baïse river, between the Pyrenees to the south and the hills of Gers to the north, Trie-sur-Baïse preserves remarkable architectural heritage. Its church with a flamboyant Gothic bell tower rising to 60 meters, its Carmelite monastery founded in 1365, its medieval towers (Round Tower and Square Tower from the 14th-15th centuries) and its arcades make it a must-visit destination. The car boot sale allows visitors to discover this heritage while browsing between stalls.
