The grand car boot sale by APEL of Barbazan

Every year in September, the Amicale des Parents d'Élèves (APEL) of Barbazan organizes a grand car boot sale in the sumptuous Parc des Thermes of this thermal village in Comminges. With approximately 200 exhibitors, this event is one of the most important of the season in the south of Haute-Garonne, attracting visitors from all over the Pyrenean foothills.

The Parc des Thermes, a green setting

The Parc des Thermes of Barbazan is a place steeped in history. This 19th-century thermal park, with its ancient trees and shaded paths, offers an idyllic setting for a car boot sale. Stalls are set up under the foliage, allowing exhibitors and visitors to enjoy pleasant coolness even on late summer days. The atmosphere is that of a country walk where every turn holds a discovery.

200 exhibitors and thousands of treasures

With its 200 exhibitors, the APEL car boot sale in Barbazan offers a considerable selection of items: adult and children's clothing, toys, books, crockery, trinkets, small furniture, childcare equipment, sports items, and a thousand other things. The price for exhibitors is set at 2.50 euros per meter, making the event accessible to the greatest number. The refreshment stand offers drinks and sweet or savory tarts prepared by the parents of the students.

A commitment to children

All profits from the car boot sale are donated to APEL to fund school projects: educational outings, school trips, purchase of educational materials, and organization of festive events for children. Participating in this car boot sale also means supporting the school and the youth of Barbazan and the surrounding communes of Comminges.
