Grand summer street sale-flea market in the medieval village of Ambierle
The braderie-brocante-vide-greniers of Ambierle is held annually in June on the Place du Château Gaillard and in the village streets. This medieval town in Roannais, famous for its Cluniac priory and its 15th-century altarpiece, offers a remarkable heritage setting for this day of treasure hunting. Professional and private exhibitors mingle in a friendly and festive atmosphere.
Ambierle, listed among the villages of character in the Loire, hosts its braderie-brocante-vide-greniers every year at the beginning of summer. The event unfolds on the Place du Château Gaillard and in the picturesque alleys of the village, at the foot of the Benedictine priory founded in the 11th century.
The heritage setting of Ambierle gives this street sale a unique atmosphere. Exhibitors set up their stalls between the half-timbered houses and the golden stone facades of Forez. You can find antiques and old furniture as well as bric-a-brac, vintage clothing, and decorative objects. Flea market professionals rub shoulders with individuals clearing out their attics and cellars.
The day is punctuated by entertainment and on-site catering allows you to make the most of the event. The village of Ambierle, located between the wine-growing Côte Roannaise and the Forez plain, is worth a longer visit: the Alice Taverne museum dedicated to popular arts and traditions and the remarkable Flemish altarpiece in the priory are well worth the detour.
The braderie-brocante-vide-greniers of Ambierle returns in June 2026 on the Place du Château Gaillard.
