Every last weekend of June, the town of Baugy vibrates to the rhythm of its musical and flea market fair, an emblematic event organized by the harmony orchestra La Lyre de Baugy. This event, which celebrates its 38th edition in 2025, has established itself as a must-attend gathering for music and bargain hunting enthusiasts in the Cher department.

Unique Musical Flea Market in Berry

The unique feature of the Foire Musicale de Baugy lies in its musical flea market where one can sell, buy, and exchange musical instruments, old sheet music, vinyl records, posters, and all musical equipment. This specialty attracts collectors and musicians from all over the Centre-Val de Loire region, making Baugy an ephemeral musical hub for a weekend.

In addition to the musical flea market, a large flea market and car boot sale takes place on rue de Sully and in the adjacent streets. Exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, offer furniture, tableware, trinkets, vintage clothing, and collector's items. The exhibitor fee, set at 3 euros per linear meter, remains affordable and allows for a wide diversity of offerings.

Founded in the 19th century, the harmony orchestra La Lyre de Baugy perpetuates the musical tradition of this town in Berry. The association organizes the musical fair as the highlight of its calendar, with the profits contributing to the orchestra's operation and the purchase of instruments.
