Every August 15th, the town of Sanguinet comes alive for its famous Foire du Lac, a major event that attracts thousands of visitors to the edge of Lake Cazaux-Sanguinet. Organized by the local rugby club, this commercial fair and flea market has become an unmissable summer event in the Landes.

A 2-kilometer route between lake and village

The fair extends over an impressive route of nearly 2 kilometers, taking over Charles-Castets Avenue and de Losa Avenue, as well as the Allée des Eaux-qui-Rient to the port of Beaurivage. More than 250 exhibitors offer a varied selection: food stalls, regional specialties, clothing, jewelry, arts and crafts, and flea market items. Both bargain hunters and food lovers will find something to their liking.

Festive meals and Landes ambiance

The day begins at 8:30 AM with a breakfast of calf's head, cheese, and wine in the town hall square. Lunch and dinner feature festive meals with duck breast or steak and fries, and dessert. In the afternoon, bands liven up the streets, while in the evening, a DJ-led ball extends the festivities. The atmosphere is resolutely festive and typical of the Landes, in the tradition of village festivals in the Southwest.

An event for Sanguinet rugby

The Sanguinet rugby club, organizer of the event, benefits from the proceeds of this fair to finance its sports activities. Admission is free, and the fair runs from 9 AM to 7 PM. It's an opportunity to discover Sanguinet in its most beautiful summer ambiance, between the lake and the pine forest.
