Since 1995, the A.S.C.H. (Association Sportive de la Chalosse et des Hauts) basketball club has organized its traditional Ascension Fair in Sainte-Colombe, a village in Chalosse, Landes. This event, in its 30th edition in 2026, has become a major gathering for bargain hunters and flea market enthusiasts in the southern Landes region.

A large-scale event

The Foire de l'Ascension brings together between 80 and 100 exhibitors, spread across the parking lot and the Sainte-Colombe sports hall. The mixed format, both indoors and outdoors, allows visitors to be welcomed regardless of the weather conditions. Exhibitors offer a mix of flea market items, crafts, and second-hand goods: furniture, tableware, vintage clothing, toys, trinkets, tools, and handmade creations.

More than a flea market, a celebration

A.S.C.H. pulls out all the stops for this festive day. A full meal is served at noon for 14 euros, offering a gourmet break appreciated by visitors. The bar remains open all day, serving cold and hot drinks. Entertainment sometimes punctuates the event, including a grand raffle with attractive prizes. Entry and parking are free.

Funding for local sports

The profits from the Foire de l'Ascension are entirely reinvested in the Sainte-Colombe basketball club, helping to fund travel, equipment, and training for young players. Supporting this fair also means supporting local sports in rural areas.
