About Foire aux Miettes SAAM

The Foire aux Miettes of Soisy-sur-Seine is the great solidarity gathering of the Essonne autumn. Organised by the SAAM association (Soisy Aide Au Monde), it brings together 80 to 150 sellers — private individuals, associations and craftspeople — on the Allée Chevalier near the village hall each September. All proceeds go to development projects in Africa, primarily Burkina Faso. A committed, family-friendly and festive brocante, with African food on site.

Foire aux Miettes: hunting for bargains for a better world

The Foire aux Miettes of Soisy-sur-Seine is far more than a simple car boot sale: it combines the convivial atmosphere of a flea market with humanitarian commitment. Run for many years by SAAM (Soisy Aide Au Monde), this annual September event is one of the most anticipated in the commune and beyond.

SAAM is an international solidarity association working from Soisy-sur-Seine on development projects in Africa, mainly Burkina Faso. The Foire aux Miettes is its main fundraising event: every euro from seller registration fees and association sales goes directly into concrete projects — school construction, water access, vocational training, women's empowerment.

A multi-dimensional event

  • Car boot & brocante: 80–150 sellers with everyday objects, clothing, furniture, china, toys, books and trinkets at accessible prices.
  • African crafts: stands with creations from Burkina Faso and West Africa — jewellery, textiles, wood sculpture, decor. Purchases directly benefit local artisans.
  • African food: hot dishes, fried foods, drinks prepared by association members. A genuine gastronomic discovery moment.
  • Festive atmosphere: music, meetings, cultural exchanges give this day a unique spirit far beyond a simple sale.
