The Foire à la Ferraille du Bugue: Tradition and Conviviality in Périgord Noir

Every year in October, the Place de la Farge in Le Bugue hosts its traditional Foire à la Ferraille et Brocante Professionnelle. Organized by the Comité de la Farge, this event perpetuates a living tradition of treasure hunting and trading antique objects in this town of character in Périgord Noir, located at the confluence of the Vézère and Ladoue rivers.

A Rendezvous for Scrap Metal and Antique Object Enthusiasts

The fair brings together professional and private exhibitors on the Place de la Farge, a large space in the center of Le Bugue village. The stalls offer a varied assortment: old scrap metal, trade tools, cast iron and wrought iron objects, period kitchen utensils, industrial decoration elements, and collector's items. Treasure hunters can find treasures at attractive prices in an authentic and warm atmosphere.

Le Bugue, Gateway to the Vézère Valley

Located at the crossroads of Périgord Noir and Périgord Blanc, Le Bugue is a dynamic town in the Vézère valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site for its prehistoric sites. The town, bordered by the Vézère river, offers a remarkable natural setting with its limestone cliffs, caves, and stone villages. Visitors to the fair can extend their stay by discovering the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, the Aquarium du Périgord Noir, or the many Périgord markets.

Spit-Roasted Ham and Conviviality

During each edition, the Comité de la Farge offers a meal with spit-roasted ham, slowly cooked on-site, accompanied by local Périgord products. This moment of sharing, by reservation, is a highlight of the day and illustrates the friendly spirit that has animated this fair for many years.
