The Foire à la Farfouille: Mézidon-Canon's Great Hunt

The Foire à la Farfouille is an annual event popular with bargain hunters in the Pays d'Auge. Organized by the Comité des Fêtes of Mézidon-Canon, this flea market takes over the streets of the town center for a full day of outdoor treasure hunting. About forty exhibitors, both individuals and professionals, offer their finds to visitors from all over Calvados.

Mézidon Vallée d'Auge, crossroads of the Pays d'Auge

Mézidon Vallée d'Auge is a new commune in Calvados, created in 2016 by the merger of several historic communes, including Mézidon-Canon. Located at the intersection of the Caen-Lisieux and Rouen-Alençon routes, this commune of over 10,000 inhabitants is a natural crossroads for the Pays d'Auge, a land of hedgerows, cheeses, and cider. The town of Mézidon-Canon, with its train station and dynamic associations, is the beating heart of this extensive commune.

Rummaging in the heart of the Norman bocage

The concept of "farfouille" (rummaging) is simple and universal: you rummage, you search, you discover. The stalls are full of trinkets, tableware, clothing, toys, tools, books, and objects of all kinds. The atmosphere is relaxed, conducive to negotiation and great discoveries. Regular exhibitors rub shoulders with occasional sellers, offering an eclectic mix that gives this type of event its charm.

A family-friendly and accessible event

Admission is free for visitors. The exhibitor fee of €3 per linear meter remains very affordable, encouraging participation from as many people as possible. The event takes place outdoors from 8 am to 6 pm, offering a full day of treasure hunting in the green setting of the Norman bocage.
