Seasonal professional flea market on the Quai d'Auxerre in Roscoff, from May to September
The Quai d'Auxerre in Roscoff is one of the most picturesque sites in this port town in North Finistère. Facing the island of Batz, with its boats gently swaying at the quay and its pink granite houses in a row, this quay offers a Breton postcard setting. It is precisely in this exceptional setting that the Foire à la Brocante is held, a seasonal event that returns several times between spring and autumn for the greatest pleasure of antique object enthusiasts.
Unlike one-off car boot sales, this event brings together professional exhibitors: dealers, antique dealers, and specialized resellers who offer selected quality pieces. You can find antique furniture, earthenware and ceramics, marine and fishing objects (particularly suited to the Roscoff context), trinkets, paintings, antique linens, and all sorts of collectible items. The quality of the offerings and the beauty of the site make it a particularly popular event.
The flea market is held several times a year: in May (often the third Saturday), in July, in August, and in September. Each edition takes place from 9 am to 7 pm, offering visitors a wide window of time to browse at their leisure. Admission is completely free, making spontaneous visits easy for locals and tourists alike who are passing through this busy summer town.
The layout of the Quai d'Auxerre allows exhibitors to display their stalls with a view of the sea, creating a unique atmosphere where antique objects seem to dialogue with the surrounding maritime heritage. The fishing boats, the ferries to the island of Batz, and the historic port architecture of Roscoff form an incomparable natural backdrop for a professional flea market.
Roscoff welcomes many tourists every summer, including English visitors who take the Roscoff–Plymouth ferry. This international influx gives the Foire à la Brocante an unusual cosmopolitan dimension: European visitors, often discerning collectors of antique objects, browse the stalls alongside locals. The professional exhibitors, well accustomed to this varied clientele, offer pieces that can cross the Channel without difficulty.
