The spring vide-grenier of the Val de Nièvre industrial town
Distinct from the autumn Grande Réderie which gives Flixecourt its national fame, this May vide-grenier offers a more intimate and local rendezvous. Held in the heart of the town or in one of its districts depending on the edition, it brings together residents and local hunters around varied stalls.
Flixecourt is a commune of about 3,000 inhabitants nestled in the Nièvre valley, about twenty kilometres northwest of Amiens. The town still bears the mark of its rich industrial past: from the 19th century, the Saint family established one of the largest jute factories in Europe.
The May vide-grenier mainly brings together private exhibitors from the town. You find the classic bric-à-brac: clothes, linen, tableware, books, toys, small furniture.
Unlike the Grande Réderie which attracts several thousand visitors in October, this May event is on a modest scale. You can move around without elbowing your way.
Coming to Flixecourt for the vide-grenier is also the opportunity to explore this former industrial town.
