Flea market and car boot sale on May 1st at the village hall of Plaine-de-Walsch
On May 1st, the village of Plaine-de-Walsch comes alive around its village hall for a full day of flea market and car boot sale. From 6 am to 8 pm, this small rural event attracts early morning treasure hunters and holiday strollers.
Plaine-de-Walsch, 450 inhabitants, is a discreet village in the foothills of the Vosges, a few kilometers from Sarrebourg. Its traditional houses, farms, and orchards make up a typical rural landscape of the Pays de Sarrebourg. The flea market on May 1st is one of the village's few annual events, and the residents are committed to making it a success.
The originality of this flea market lies in its festive evening: after the day of treasure hunting, visitors and residents gather for pizzas and tarts flambées (Flammekueche), with an orchestra. This typically Mosellan conviviality makes Plaine-de-Walsch a must-attend event on the May 1st public holiday.
