Plant and flea market festival in the hamlet of Chateloy in Herisson
The Fete des Plantes et Brocante de Hérisson is held every year in May in the hamlet of Chateloy, in the commune of Hérisson. This medieval village, perched above the Aumance, is one of the most beautiful in the Allier with its castle ruins and old houses. The plant festival, combined with a car boot sale, attracts gardening and flea market enthusiasts in a remarkable rural setting. Free admission.
Hérisson is one of the most spectacular sites in the Allier. Perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the deep Aumance valley, the medieval village retains the impressive ruins of a fortress of the Dukes of Bourbon. The old houses, the church, and the narrow streets descending towards the river form a classified heritage ensemble.
The plant festival takes place in the hamlet of Chateloy, away from the medieval town center. This area accommodates plant exhibitors, nursery gardeners, and car boot sale stalls in a green setting. The exhibitor fee of 3 euros per linear meter makes the event accessible to both individuals and professionals.
The combination of a plant festival and a flea market is a formula that is growing in popularity in the Allier. Gardening enthusiasts find rare plants, seeds, tools, and advice, while bargain hunters explore the car boot sale stalls in search of good deals.
Hérisson-Chateloy Plant and Flea Market Festival 2026. Sunday, May 17th, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Free admission.
