About Stork Festival Flea Market
The Stork Festival in Saint-Denis-du-Payré combines flea market, craft market, plant fair and stork-watching walks. 2026 edition on Sunday, 26 April, Place du 8 Mai, with around 60 stalls and a rich programme of nature, heritage and bargain-hunting in the Vendée Marais poitevin.
A unique event in Vendée
In the south Vendée Marais poitevin, Saint-Denis-du-Payré is one of France's top white-stork watching sites. The Stork Festival, run each spring by the Saint-Denisolais festival committee, combines flea market, craft market, plant fair, guided nature walks, exhibitions and a children's drawing contest. 2026: Sunday 26 April, Place du 8 Mai, exhibitor check-in from 7am.
About 60 stalls
Private sellers with clothing, toys, crockery, books, records, knick-knacks and small furniture. Indicative price €3 per linear metre, paid to the festival committee. Good attendance thanks to the village's tourism appeal.
Craft and plant markets
Local producers and artisans of southern Vendée plus rose growers, vegetable plants, succulents and local flora of the Marais poitevin.
Stork watching
Saint-Denis-du-Payré's National Nature Reserve hosts one of Vendée's biggest white stork colonies. During the festival, guided observation walks let you discover these spectacular birds. Binoculars welcome. Educational displays and a drawing contest for kids complete the offer.
A Marais village
About 400 inhabitants, typical of the south Vendée Marais poitevin, between Luçon and La Tranche-sur-Mer. Home to a 207-hectare National Nature Reserve managed by LPO.
