The reference fair for antique dealers in Franche-Comté, a Besançon tradition for nearly five decades
Every November for nearly 50 years, the Besançon Antiques Fair has brought together the greatest antique dealers from France and Europe at Micropolis. For four days, over 30 professional art dealers and antique dealers present their finest pieces in the halls of the Besançon exhibition center. An exceptional event, a true cultural and commercial institution in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region.
The Besançon Antiques Fair is one of the oldest and most respected antique dealers' fairs in eastern France. Organized every year in November at Micropolis – Besançon's exhibition and congress center – it has brought together the best professional antique dealers for nearly five decades in a refined and elegant setting. The 2025 edition was the 48th, and the 2026 edition will mark the 49th, confirming the exceptional longevity of this cultural and commercial event.
The fair is held over four days (generally from Friday to Monday or Saturday to Tuesday) at Micropolis, with evening opening hours on the first day to allow professionals and collectors to meet in a more exclusive setting. Admission is charged – €7 for the standard rate, €6 for the reduced rate – which distinguishes this fair from usual flea markets and highlights its high-end positioning.
The Besançon Antiques Fair is not an ordinary flea market: exhibitors are carefully selected from the best specialists in their field. More than thirty renowned antique dealers present their finest pieces – 17th to 19th century style furniture, exceptional silverware and goldsmithing, master paintings and sculptures, rare ceramics and porcelain, antique jewelry and precious stones, art objects, and cabinet pieces. Some editions have featured pieces of exceptional provenance, and the fair maintains links with museum institutions like the Louvre.
Exhibitors come from all over France and sometimes from abroad, bringing a national and international dimension to this regional fair. Their expertise and passion for their craft make each edition an opportunity for learning as well as acquisition.
Over the decades, the Besançon Antiques Fair has become much more than a trade fair. It is a cultural event in its own right, contributing to Besançon's reputation as a city of art and history. Conferences, events, and thematic presentations that accompany certain editions enrich the visit and allow both amateurs and the uninitiated to better understand the history of objects and decorative arts.
The 2026 edition (49th) will be held from Friday, November 6th to Monday, November 9th, 2026, at Micropolis.
The 49th edition of the Besançon Antiques Fair will be held from November 6th to 9th, 2026, at Micropolis. Over 30 selected professional antique dealers will present their finest pieces: furniture, silverware, paintings, antique jewelry, and art objects. Admission at €7 (reduced €6, free under 16s).
