The Farfouille de Balanod, a must-see in the southern Jura

Every year on Ascension Day, the village of Balanod hosts its famous Farfouille, a large-scale car boot sale that attracts bargain hunters and curious visitors from all over the southern Jura department. With nearly 200 exhibitors, the event has established itself as one of the unmissable appointments of the season for bargain hunters.

The unique feature of the Farfouille de Balanod is its very early opening: from 4 am, the first bargain hunters browse the stalls set up on the Square Abbé Pernot and at the place called Le Péna. Exhibitors offer a wide range of items: furniture, crockery, clothing, toys, books, vinyl records, trinkets, and curiosities of all kinds. The pitch is available for 2 euros per linear meter, with no prior reservation.

To benefit the Balanod school

The Farfouille is organized by the Association des Parents et Amis de l'École de Balanod. The profits from the event (refreshments, food, pitch fees) are entirely reinvested for the benefit of school activities: outings, shows, educational equipment. It is a fine example of community mobilization for the school.

Food and conviviality

On site, visitors can find refreshments, a snack bar, and a meal service to enjoy throughout the day. The atmosphere is festive and family-friendly, with that special energy of large car boot sales where discoveries abound and conversations liven up around prices.
