The Farfouille de Péronnas: a major treasure hunt event near Bourg-en-Bresse

Each year in May, the town of Péronnas, located near Bourg-en-Bresse, hosts one of the largest treasure hunts in the area. Organized by the Sou des Écoles, this event brings together between 200 and 400 private exhibitors in the vast car parks of the Marc Bernardin complex, at 450 allée de la Grange Magnien.

The Farfouille de Péronnas is distinguished by its size and friendly atmosphere. Hundreds of individuals take over the car parks of the event halls to offer all sorts of second-hand items: clothing, toys, books, crockery, small furniture, trinkets, tools, and decorative objects. The event attracts bargain hunters from all over the Burgian region and beyond, creating a warm and lively popular market atmosphere.

The Sou des Écoles de Péronnas is a parents' association that finances school and extracurricular activities by organizing events like this treasure hunt. The proceeds from pitch rentals and refreshments allow the children to enjoy cultural outings, shows, and sports activities throughout the year. Buying and selling at the Farfouille also means supporting the local public school.

Practical information

The event starts very early: the car park opens to exhibitors at 4 am, stand setup begins at 6 am, and sales run from 7 am to 6 pm. Departures are possible from 4 pm. The price is €3 per linear meter, no reservation required, with a mandatory ID. The event may be cancelled in case of rain.
