Annual farfouille in the heart of Tenay, in the Albarine gorge
Tenay, a village in the Albarine gorge in Bugey, hosts an open-air farfouille on the first Sunday of July each year. Individuals set up to offer their second-hand items in a relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere. Entry is free for visitors and a refreshment stand is provided on-site by volunteers.
Tenay is a village in the Ain department located in the Albarine gorge, in the heart of Bugey. Crossed by the Albarine river, the village is known for its industrial heritage related to silk production and its natural setting between mountains and forests. Every year at the beginning of July, a farfouille (car boot sale) is organized in the town center.
The Tenay farfouille brings together private sellers offering clothes, toys, books, dishes, trinkets, and everyday items. The event is held outdoors, in a green setting typical of Bugey. The atmosphere is simple and warm, conducive to good deals and neighborly encounters.
The municipality of Tenay is ideally located on the axis connecting Ambérieu-en-Bugey to Belley. The Albarine gorge offers spectacular landscapes, between limestone cliffs and deciduous forests. The farfouille is a great opportunity to discover this preserved territory while treasure hunting.
A refreshment stand is run by local volunteers, offering drinks and light snacks. The event is accessible to all and entry is free.
