A Festive August 15th in Évaux-les-Bains

Every August 15th, the small town of Évaux-les-Bains comes alive for its traditional street sale and flea market, organized by the association Les Indépendants de la Source. From Place de l'Hôtel de Ville to the adjacent streets, the entire spa town transforms into a vast market where flea market finds, merchants' street sales, car boot sales, local products, and arts and crafts mingle.

A Rich and Friendly Program

From 8 am, exhibitors set up their stalls throughout the town, offering a wide range of goods: flea market items, furniture, trinkets, second-hand articles, as well as local Creuse products and creations by art craftsmen. The banda de Roches provides musical entertainment throughout the day, creating a festive atmosphere in the streets. Food and drinks are available on-site to accompany visitors throughout this festive day.

Évaux-les-Bains, the Only Spa Town in Limousin

Évaux-les-Bains is the only spa town in Limousin, recognized since Gallo-Roman times for the virtues of its hot springs gushing at over 60°C. The Viaduc des Tardes, a 19th-century feat of railway engineering spanning the Tardes gorges nearby, is worth a visit. The August 15th flea market benefits from the summer tourist influx in this charming resort.

An Event Rooted in Tradition

With its 37th edition in 2025, the Évaux-les-Bains street sale and flea market is one of the oldest events of its kind in Creuse. It demonstrates the associative vitality of this small commune of about 1,400 inhabitants, which knows how to liven up its town center and attract visitors from well beyond the department's borders.
