Large village flea market in the fortified Flemish village of Esquelbecq
The Esquelbecq flea market, organized by the village Tourism Office, brings together 200 to 300 exhibitors on Place Alphonse Bergerot, in the heart of this fortified Flemish village of 2,000 inhabitants. In the shadow of the medieval castle and Saint-Folquin church, treasure hunters browse stalls of Flemish furniture, Northern faience, and vintage items in a typically Flemish atmosphere.
Esquelbecq, ranked among the most beautiful villages in French Flanders, hosts its great spring flea market each year on Place Alphonse Bergerot. This village of 2,000 souls, nestled between Wormhout and Bergues, captivates with its 16th-century moated castle, its hall-church Saint-Folquin, and its paved streets typical of the Flemish plain.
Known as the 'book village' thanks to its bookshop and literary events, Esquelbecq transforms into a flea market village during this event. The 200 to 300 exhibitors take over Place Bergerot, rue de Bergues, and rue de Wormhout, creating a vast open-air market mixing individuals and professionals.
The flea market runs from 7 AM to 6 PM. Free admission for visitors. Free parking on the outskirts of the village. Food and drinks available on site.
