The Outdoor Sales of Quimperlé

Quimperlé (29300) organizes two major outdoor sale and car boot sale days each year: one in spring, in May, and a second in mid-summer, on August 15th. These events bring together individuals and professional flea market vendors who set up their stalls outdoors to offer an eclectic selection of second-hand items.

These sales are organized by local associations and attract exhibitors from Quimperlé and the surrounding areas, as well as a large public composed of residents, retirees, families, and passing tourists. Free admission makes these events open to all, in the spirit of popular Breton treasure hunting.

August 15th, a Summer Event

The August 15th sale is the more popular of the two, benefiting from the mid-August tourist peak and the high presence of holidaymakers in the region. The OMS (Municipal Sports Office or equivalent local association) organizes this traditional car boot sale, ingrained in the habits of the Quimperlé residents. Old dishes, toys, books, vinyl records, vintage clothing, and furniture are piled high on stalls in the sun.

The May session, on the other hand, marks the seasonal reopening of this activity, often associated with the return of good weather and spring cleaning. Many individuals exhibit, eager to clear out attics and cellars after winter.
