The back-to-school flea market on the Place de la Mairie
The Combles Réderie takes over the Place de la Mairie of this history-laden Haute-Somme village each early September. Organised by the municipality, it gathers around fifty exhibitors in an authentic setting, in the heart of the village rebuilt after the destruction of the First World War.
The Combles Réderie is a discreet but well-established event on the Haute-Somme calendar. Each early September, the municipality organises this réderie on the Place de la Mairie. The word "réderie" rings particularly true here: a traditional Picardy event mixing family bargain hunting and village friendliness.
The choice of the Place de la Mairie gives the event an intimate and central character. Exhibitors set up their tables around the square.
About fifty exhibitors participate each year, mainly private individuals. They offer the classic Picardy attic bric-a-brac. Militaria and old papers enthusiasts often find items related to local history, particularly rich in memories of the 1916 Battle of the Somme.
Combles is a small Péronne canton town, located at the heart of the Somme battlefield. During the 1916 Franco-British offensive, the village was entirely destroyed and only rebuilt after the war.
The Combles Réderie is above all a family-friendly day. Municipal volunteers handle reception.
