All-collections fair at Place de la Mairie in Chauconin-Neufmontiers, near Meaux
The Chauconin-Neufmontiers Collectors Fair is an annual event dedicated to collection enthusiasts, organized at Place de la Mairie in this Brie municipality near Meaux. Philately, numismatics, postcards, figurines, old papers, champagne capsules, military items, and many other collection themes are offered by specialized exhibitors. This fair brings together seasoned collectors and curious visitors discovering the fascinating world of collecting.
Every year in spring, Chauconin-Neufmontiers hosts its Collectors Fair, a specialized event that stands out from classic flea markets and garage sales through its orientation towards collectible items. The 2026 edition will be held on Sunday, April 19, at Place de la Mairie, offering collectors from throughout the Paris region an essential gathering to enrich their collections, exchange with peers, and discover new themes.
Unlike general flea markets, a collectors fair brings together exhibitors specialized in specific themes: philately (stamps), numismatics (coins and banknotes), cartophily (old postcards), epiphany cake figurines, champagne capsules and wire hoods, old papers and vintage advertisements, various labels, militaria, antique toys, figurines, advertising items, and many other fields. This specialization allows visitors to find rare pieces and thematic collections carefully built, which is difficult to find in an ordinary flea market.
The fair naturally attracts an audience of insiders: experienced collectors looking to complete a series, beginning amateurs coming to learn and discover, nostalgics looking for an iconic childhood object, investors interested in valuable pieces. The atmosphere is different from that of a popular flea market: calmer, more technical, more erudite, with passionate discussions between connoisseurs about provenance, condition, rarity, and value of the pieces on display.
Chauconin-Neufmontiers is a municipality of about 1,900 inhabitants located in the northwest of Seine-et-Marne, in the Meaux agglomeration. This Brie village, formed in 1964 by the merger of Chauconin and Neufmontiers-lès-Meaux, offers a rural and peaceful setting in the immediate vicinity of the sub-prefecture and its heritage treasures.
The visit to the fair can be extended by discovering Meaux and its remarkable heritage: Saint-Étienne Cathedral, a Gothic gem, the episcopal palace, the Bossuet Museum, and especially the famous Great War Museum, one of the most important in Europe on the First World War.
